Kip Kumler, the owner and winemaker at Turtle Creek Winery has invited up to 15 of us to join him for a discounted tour and tasting at his winery and vineyard in Lincoln, MA.  Turtle Creek is a boutique winery that makes world class wines.  The estate wines are made from vinifera grapes which are grown right in Lincoln.  Kip supplements his wine production by sourcing ultra premium grapes from the Sierra Foothills – but he has full control of everything from the grape clones, to the pruning, to the harvest – so these are in effect also estate grapes.  No expense is spared in creating the best wine possible.  The equipment, lab, computer controlled tanks, and science behind the wine making are something that you might find in a winery 100 times the size. The attention to detail is just amazing and Kip will answer any and all your questions about the operation.

The tour will end with a sampling of 5 of his wines in an incredible concrete wine cave constructed under his home.  The winery is not normally open to the public and the cost for a tour like this is normally $35 per person but our cost because we are AWS members is only $20 per person.

I invite you to join us for a detailed and interesting behind the scenes look at this world class micro-winery.

Plan on spending 2 hours there.  The tour starts promptly at 1:00pm, so try and arrive a few minutes early.  The winery is about 50 minutes from Worcester.  Payment is made directly to the winery at the end of the tour.

Directions, please read:

Directions to Turtle Creek Winery
28 Beaver Pond Road
Lincoln, MA
781 259 9976

The address is 28 Beaver Pond Road in Lincoln but the driveway is shared and marked by a white mailbox with the number 26 on it.  Put this address into your GPS or google maps.

Take this driveway BUT at the first fork in the driveway, bear right. At the second fork, bear left (this is marked 28). You will pass part of a small vineyard on the right and come to a shingle-style house; otherwise, you took a wrong turn and are annoying one of Kip’s neighbors…

Please park anywhere around the circle.

Dinner after:

Let’s meet at the The Blackstone Bistro BYOB restaurant in Worcester to enjoy a bite to eat with some wine purchased from the winery.
